WORLD HEART DAY: 29th SEPTEMBER
It is the biggest awareness-raising platform for cardiovascular disease that is organized by World’s Heart Federation in collaboration with World Health Organisation.
Cardiovascular disease is accountable for more than half of the non-communicable deaths and therefore World Heart Day was created as a platform for people with cardiovascular diseases to unite together and fight against cardiovascular disease.
FACTS!!
Cardiovascular disease like heart disease and stroke is the leading cause of death in the World claiming 18.6 million lives in a year.
PURPOSE: “USE HEART FOR EVERY HEART”.
The World Health Organisation organizes this campaign to unite people from all communities and countries to fight against CVD.
It aims at educating people and promoting them to live a healthier life and control risk factors such as consumption of alcohol and tobacco, unhealthy diet, and physical inactivity.

This day is celebrated to remind us to pause our lives and to consider how we can use our hearts for humanity, for spreading love and peace in society.
HEART FOR HUMANITY:
It is the day to remind all of us to support each other at times of disparity and empower people to help them fight CVD and make a difference in the lives of all humankind.
HEART FOR NATURE:
25% of all CVD deaths are caused by air pollution which accounts for 7 million lives per year.
It is our responsibility to contribute to a healthier planet by making long-term efforts for nature or even short-term efforts like walking or cycling instead of using a car each day.
HEART FOR YOU:
Psychological stress is also one of the major factors of CVD which can be reduced by exercise, meditation, and getting a good quality of sleep.
The best way to take care of your heart is to eat right, sleep right and reduce your stress levels. Emotions such as anger, anxiety, negative feelings, etc. can increase your risk of CVD.
